Rare Birds Day by Day (updated to 2003)
These pages list all the rarest birds seen in Shetland, sorted
by find date. The definition of rare is that the bird has been seen on 10 or
fewer occasions in Shetland, so some quite common British birds are included,
while many Shetland specialities are (currently) excluded. Records are to the
end of 2003 and only find dates are included. The graph shows the occurrence of
rarities by ten-day periods.
