Lesser Whitethroat at Sumburgh - Jim Nicolson
The Marsh Harrier is still at Sand Water. A Ring Ouzel, a Redstart, a Whimbrel and a Willow Warbler are at Virkie and a Lesser Whitethroat, a Robin and a Chiffchaff are at Sumburgh Head.
A Common Sandpiper, a Reed Bunting, 3 Chiffchaffs, a
Willow Warbler and a Linnet are at Scatness. Two Swallows, 3 Purple Sandpipers and a Great Northern Diver are at Melby.
On Unst, A Lesser Whitethroat, 3 Arctic Skuas, a Reed Bunting, a Willow Warbler, a Swallow and a redpoll sp are at Burrafirth and 3 Chiffchaffs, 2 Goldcrests and a Robin are at Vaylie.
On Yell, a House Martin is at Mid Yell, a Swallow is at Burravoe and a Wood Pigeon is at Cullivoe.
A Wood Pigeon, a Brambling and 2 Chiffchaffs are on Noss.

A Marsh Harrier and a Swallow are at Sand Water. A Lesser Whitethroat, a Bullfinch, a Blackcap, 5 Swallows, a Carrion Crow and a Wood Pigeon are at Sumburgh Head, a Peregrine is at Sumburgh Hotel, a Sparrowhawk is at Spiggie and a Lesser Whitethroat and a Reed Bunting are at Virkie. A Brambling, a Siskin and a Chiffchaff are at Sandgarth, near Voe. A Green Sandpiper, a Willow Warbler and a Brambling are at Wester Quarff.
There are 6 Siskins, a Brambling, a Reed Bunting and a Swallow on Out Skerries.
On Unst, the 2 Common Cranes were at Muness before flying off north, a Kestrel is at Hermaness and a Greenshank is at Baltasound.
On Yell, a Swallow and a Chiffchaff are at Burravoe and a Chiffchaff is at Otterswick. A Wood Pigeon, 2 Fieldfares and a Chiffchaff are on Noss.

Common Cranes at Uyeasound and Lesser Whitethroat

On Unst, the 2 Common Cranes are still at Uyeasound, moving between two ploughed fields. A summer-plumaged Slavonian Grebe and a Lesser Whitethroat are at Burrafirth.
A House Martin, a Sand Martin, 30 Swallows and a Reed Bunting are at Hillwell, 3 Swallows are at Quendale and 3 Siskins and a Common Tern are at Virkie. A Lesser Whitethroat, a Willow Warbler, a Chiffchaff, a Robin and a Fieldfare are at Sumburgh Head.
On Noss there is an Arctic Skua, a Whimbrel, a Wood Pigeon, 3 Swallows and 2 Bramblings .
A Chaffinch is at Burravoe, Yell.

Greenfinch at Baltasound - Mike Pennington; Bar-tailed Godwit at Haroldswick - Alastair Wilson
On Unst, the 2 Common Cranes are still at Uyeasound, moving between two ploughed fields. A female Ring Ouzel, a Goosander and 2 Arctic Skuas are at Helliers Water, a Sparrowhawk is at Skaw and a Bar-tailed Godwit is at Haroldswick. The wing of a recently-predated Storm Petrel was found on Hermaness.
A Common Redpoll, 2 Whimbrel, 10 Wood Pigeons, 2 Siskins, 2 Robins and 3 Goldcrests are at Kergord and a Chiffchaff and 8 Wood Pigeons are at Catfirth. A Chiffchaff, a Swallow, 2 Whimbrel, 3 Siskins, a Common Tern, 2 White Wagtails, 5 Willow Warblers and the Mallard x Pintail hybrid are at Scatness, a Black Redstart and an Arctic Skua are at Sumburgh Head, a Black Redstart is at Grutness and 3 Siskins, a Sparrowhawk, a Chiffchaff, a Robin, 8 Whimbrel and 2 Jackdaws are at Virkie.
On Noss there is a Wood Pigeon, 3 Chiffchaffs, a Willow Warbler, 3 Whimbrels and an Arctic Tern.
On Yell, a Chaffinch and 3 Rooks are at Burravoe and a Chiffchaff is at Otterswick.

Two Sandwich Terns and 3 Chiffchaffs are on Noss.
An Arctic Skua and 2 Siskins are at Scatness, a Chaffinch is at Sumburgh Hotel, 2 Linnets are at Virkie and a Robin is at Scousburgh. A Common Tern is at Whiteness Voe and 2 Common Terns are at Oligarth.
On Bressay, 2 Shelducks are at Leira Voe and 2 Chiffchaffs are at Voehead. A House Martin is at Baltasound, Unst.

A Great Grey Shrike, a Common Redpoll, a Chaffinch, a Wood Pigeon, 10 Swallows, 2 Robins, 8 Chiffchaffs, 2 Willow Warblers and a Goldcrest are on Noss.
On Unst, the 2 Common Cranes are still at Uyeasound, a Greenshank and a Sand Martin are at Skaw and the drake Garganey is still at Haroldswick, along with 2 Great Northern Divers and a Willow Warbler. Two Swallows are at Lamba Ness and 2 Arctic Skuas are at Norwick.
A littoralis Rock Pipit, 7 Siskins, a Robin and a Chiffchaff are at Scatness, an Arctic Tern is at Scord, 3 Common Terns, a Reed Bunting, 3 Chiffchaffs, a Water Rail, a Swallow and a Black-tailed Godwit are at Virkie, a Swallow is at Sumburgh Head and a Song Thrush is at Toab. A Water Rail is on Trondra, 3 Great Northern Divers are off St Ninian's Isle and a Common Tern is at Whiteness Voe.

Common Cranes on Unst - Mike Pennington; Iceland Gull and Goldcrest at Sumburgh - Steve Minton
On Unst, the 2 Common Cranes were at Baltasound early morning, then near Watlee a little later before settling in a field at Uyeasound for the rest of the day. A Great Northern Diver, 2 Swallows and 5 Purple Sandpipers are at Haroldswick.
A Ring Ouzel, a Woodcock, a first-summer Iceland Gull, a Black Redstart, 66 Fieldfares, 4 Redwings, a Chaffinch, a Song Thrush, 7 Robins, 2 Chiffchaffs and a Goldcrest are at Sumburgh Head, 3 Bramblings, a Chiffchaff and 2 Goldcrests are at Sumburgh Hotel and 5 Chiffchaffs and a Robin are at Grutness. 5 Siskins, 2 Common Terns, 17 Fieldfares, a Dunnock and a Robin are at Scatness, 3 Chiffchaffs are at Quendale, 2 Reed Buntings are at Virkie and the redhead Smew, 2 Pintails and a Swallow are at Hillwell. A male Hawfinch, a Brambling and a Chaffinch are at Ocraquoy and a female Bullfinch is on Trondra.
On Out Skerries, there is a Wood Pigeon, 2 Dunnocks, 45 Fieldfares, a Blackcap, a Goldcrest, 2 Jackdaws, a Rook and 20 Bramblings. Two Hawfinches are on Foula and a pair of Pintail and a Sand Martin are on Fetlar.
A Lesser Whitethroat, 7 Robins, a Fieldfare, 8 Chiffchaffs, 4 Willow Warblers and a Goldcrest are on Noss.

Two Common Cranes were at Burrafirth, Unst at 1pm. A Greenshank is at Baltasound, a Bar-tailed Godwit is at Haroldswick and a Green Sandpiper is at Burrafirth.
There are 2 littoralis Rock Pipits and a Black Redstart at Grutness, a littoralis Rock Pipit, a Brambling, 4 Siskins and a Robin at Scatness, 2 Ring Ouzels at Sumburgh Head and a Reed Bunting at Virkie. A Stock Dove, a Ring Ouzel, a Swallow, 2 Fieldfares, 5 Redwings, 2 Robins and a Goldcrest are at Wester Quarff.
A Swallow, a White Wagtail, a Black Redstart and a Song Thrush are on Out Skerries.
A Swallow, a Dunnock, 17 Robins, a Black Redstart, 3 Song Thrushes, a Lesser Whitethroat, a Chiffchaff, 2 Willow Warblers and a Goldcrest are on Noss.

A Turtle Dove was at Virkie this morning; it is the earliest Shetland record by one day. There are also 2 Reed Buntings and a Chiffchaff at Virkie. A littoralis Rock Pipit and a Song Thrush are at Grutness, a Ring Ouzel, a Black Redstart, a Bullfinch, a Grey Wagtail, 5 Chiffchaffs and a Song Thrush are at Sumburgh Head, 2 Siskins, a Brambling and a Carrion Crow are at Scatness, 2 Song Thrushes are at Sumburgh Farm and Dunnock is at Sumburgh Hotel. Two Pintails are at Hillwell, 5 Chiffchaffs and a Redwing are at Quendale and a Barnacle Goose is at Spiggie. A Lesser Whitethroat is on Mousa, 2 Linnets are at Strand and 18 Great Northern Divers are off Kettla Ness. A first-winter Glaucous Gull is at Lerwick harbour. Plenty of Robins are around today.
On Unst, there are 4 Hawfinches at Baltasound, a male Garganey at Haroldswick and a Sparrowhawk at Norwick.
A Green Sandpiper and a Chiffchaff are on Out Skerries.

The drake Ring-necked Duck is still at Loch of Tingwall. A Hen Harrier, a Black Redstart, a Robin, a Goldcrest, a Brambling, 2 Redwings, 3 Wood Pigeons and 600 Eiders are at Wester Quarff. A Hawfinch and 2 Bramblings are at Bigton and a Grey Wagtail, 4 Robins, a Goldcrest,a Redwing and a Fieldfare are at Geosetter. A Black Redstart, 4 Robins and a Song Thrush are at Sumburgh Head, 2 Common Scoters are in Quendale Bay, 2 Green Sandpipers are at Quendale dunes and a Willow Warbler, 2 Robins and 4 Wood Pigeons are at Quendale burn. The redhead Smew, a Swallow, 3 Shelducks and a pair of Shoveler are at Loch of Spiggie, a Robin, a Greenfinch and a Brambling are at Scousburgh, a pair of Pintail and a Whimbrel are at Hillwell, 5 Chaffinches and a Siskin are at Scatness and a Jackdaw is at Virkie. There are 8 Siskins at Tresta. A Hawfinch and 13 Bramblings are at Scalloway.
On Unst, a female Hawfinch is at Baltasound and a Sand Martin is at Haroldswick.
A Chiffchaff, a Brambling, a Dunnock and 4 Fieldfares are on Out Skerries.

A Hawfinch is at Bigton, a Long-eared Owl is in Lerwick, 2 Swallows, 2 Chaffinches, 27 Twite and the Mallard x Pintail hybrid are at Scatness and a Goldcrest is at Spiggie. A Song Thrush and 3 Purple Sandpipers are at Melby.
A male Hawfinch is at Baltasound on Unst.

Common Cranes at Bakkasetter - George Petrie; Brambling at Scatness - Steve Minton; Great Northern Diver at Haroldswick - Wendy Dickson
Two Common Cranes were at Culsetter, near Bakkasetter (Brow Marsh) this afternoon, and were at the north end of Loch of Spiggie in the evening before flying off south. They were apparently seen at Culsetter yesterday as well. A Hawfinch is at Maywick, a Goldcrest is at Spiggie, a Sparrowhawk is at Sumburgh Head, a Water Rail is at Virkie and there are 2 Swallows, a Brambling and 2 Chaffinches at Scatness. A Robin, a Greenfinch and a Brambling are at Scousburgh and 10 Greenfinches, 7 Bramblings and a Chaffinch are at Cunningsburgh. A first-winter Glaucous Gull, a Goldcrest, a Robin and 800 Eiders are at Wester Quarff.
On Unst, a male Hawfinch is at Baltasound.

A Common Crane flew north over Mousa at 4.55pm, having flown north over Fair Isle about 40 minutes earlier. A Willow Warbler is at Quendale, 6 Greenfinches, 2 Chaffinches, 2 Siskins, 2 Bramblings and a Robin are at Cunningsburgh, a Chiffchaff, a Brambling and a Chaffinch are at Ocraquoy and 2 Bramblings and 3 Chaffinches are at Oxensetter, Northmavine. A Brambling is at Hoswick and a Willow Warbler and a Lapland Bunting are at Swinister, Sandwick. A first-winter Iceland Gull is at Gremista.
A Redwing and 2 Robins are on Noss.

A White-billed Diver is in Mousa Sound. A Long-eared Owl, a Greenfinch, a Siskin, 2 Chaffinches, a Song Thrush, a Robin and a Dunnock are at Hoswick and a Short-eared Owl is on Mousa. A first-winter Glaucous Gull and 2 Wood Pigeons are at Wester Quarff and 18 Great Northern Divers are off Kettla Ness. A Woodcock, a Blackcap, 4 Robins, a Chaffinch, 5 Goldcrests and 4 Wood Pigeons are at Kergord.
The redhead Smew is still at Loch of Hillwell, 2 Gadwall are at Spiggie, a Linnet is at Sumburgh Head, 2 Chaffinches are at Scatness and 19 Great Northern Divers are in Quendale Bay.
On Unst, the Great White Egret is still at Haroldswick, along with a Swallow, a Lapland Bunting is at Muness and a Song Thrush is at Skaw.
A Black Redstart and 2 Robins are on Noss .

A Willow Warbler, a Chiffchaff and 3 Chaffinches are at Scatness, A Bullfinch, a Black Redstart, 5 Robins and a Chaffinch are at Sumburgh Head, 2 Goldcrests are at Sumburgh Hotel, a Brambling, a Chaffinch and a Little Grebe are at Hillwell, a Song Thrush is at Quendale and 22 Jackdaws are at Virkie. A Goldcrest is at Bigton. An exhausted Manx Shearwater was found on St Ninian's Isle.
On Unst, the Great
White Egret is still at Haroldswick and a Chiffchaff, 3 Greenfinches and 23 Wood Pigeons are at Baltasound.
