Knot at Virkie - Roger Riddington. This bird was colour-flagged in northern Norway in May 2008. Please remember to report any other colour-ringed birds.

A Lesser Grey Shrike is at Laxobigging churchyard, near Graven. A Sand Martin and 16 Knot are at Virkie. A Pied Wagtail with 3 fledged young is at Seafield, Lerwick.

A Swift is at Sumburgh Hotel.

Long-tailed Skua at East Hogaland, Burra - Russ Haywood; Curlew at Virkie - Charles Gifford; Turnstones and Sanderling at Grutness - Tony Gerrard

An adult Long-tailed Skua flew north over East Hogaland, Burra this evening. 3 Common Crossbills are at Lower Voe, 5 Knot are at Virkie and 15 Sanderlings are at Grutness.

On Unst a Turtle Dove is at Baltasound, 2 Green Sandpipers are at Hermaness and a Green Sandpiper is at Helliers Water.

On Fetlar there are 20 Common Crossbills at Hamars Ness, 3 at Tresta and 3 at Funzie.

70 Knot were at Virkie briefly this morning. 2 Common Crossbills are at Sumburgh Head.

A Green Sandpiper is at Uyeasound and 8 Common Crossbills are at Lamba Ness.

Pied Wagtail at Gutcher - Andy Gear; Red Grouse and Curlew at Nesting - Jim Nicolson

A Hobby is at Virkie.

2 Common Crossbills are at Gutcher and a Pied Wagtail is feeding fledged young there.

A Green Sandpiper is at Aith, Fetlar.

13 Common Crossbills are at Sumburgh Head, 2 are at Melby and 1 is at Virkie. A House Martin is at Sandwick and single Grey Herons are at Twatt and Eela Water, North Roe.

A Common Crane is near Walls. A Green Sandpiper is at Quendale, 15 Sanderlings are at Grutness and a House Martin is at Spiggie.

A Greenshank, a Green Sandpiper and 2 Sanderlings are at Skaw, Whalsay.

On Unst there are 30 Common Crossbills at Lamba Ness, 12 Common Crossbills at Saxa Vord and 2 Sanderlings and 8 Turnstones at Skaw.

50 Common Crossbills are at Culswick, 2 are at Upper Sound, Lerwick and 1 is at Virkie.

The Osprey is still at Sand Water. 2 Common Crossbills are at Channerwick and 2 are at Upper Sound, Lerwick.

On Unst there are 30 Common Crossbills at Lamba Ness and 3 at Skaw.

Osprey at Sand Water - Roger Riddington

An Osprey is at Sand Water; it has a white ring with the inscription "JF" on its left leg and was originally ringed as a chick near Loch Lomond in 2007. 90 Common Crossbills are at Scatness, 60 were at Scousburgh briefly, 20 are at Loch of Clumlie, 20 are at Tresta and 2 are at Kergord. A Chiffchaff is singing at Tresta and a Grey Heron is at Helendale, Lerwick.

On Unst a Hobby was at Baltasound mid-morning and 20 Common Crossbills are at Lambaness.

50 Common Crossbills are at Sumburgh Head and 10 are at Toab.

2 Common Crossbills are at Voehead, Bressay.

24 Common Crossbills are at Sumburgh Head, 10 are at Upper Sound, Lerwick and 4 are at Virkie. An Iceland Gull is at Wester Quarff and a Knot is at Virkie.

3 Common Crossbills are at Cullivoe, Yell.

Common Crossbills today on mainland included 15 at Virkie, 14 at Swinister and 2 at Upper Sound, Lerwick. A Chiffchaff is at Swinister.

Common Crossbills elsewhere included 17 at Mid Yell, 4 at West Yell, 6 on Noss and 6 on Whalsay.

Common Crossbills today on mainland included 25 at Swinister, 25 at Virkie, 10-12 at East Burrafirth, 6 at Toab, 1 at Sumburgh Head, 1 at Leebitton and 1 at Upper Sound, Lerwick.

Common Crossbills elsewhere included, on Whalsay, 20 at Skaw and 9 at Brough and, on Yell, 2+ at Cullivoe, 1 at Burravoe and a small flock over Ulsta.

Common Crossbills today on mainland included 40 at Gulberwick, 35 at Virkie, up to 7 at Scousburgh, 6 at Scatness and 2 at Upper Sound, Lerwick. 7 Swifts are at Scatness and 2 Swifts are at Aithsetter.

Common Crossbills elsewhere included 13 on Fetlar, 4 on Noss, 2 on Whalsay and a number of small flocks in north Unst.
