Turnstone and Sanderling at Skaw and Common Crossbill at Norwick - Mike Pennington; Greenshank at Baltasound and Common Crossbills at Norwick - Rob Brookes

Common Crossbill at Cunningsburgh - Jim Nicolson; Wood Warbler at Grutness - Rob Fray

An Icterine Warbler, a Barred Warbler and 4 Bar-tailed Godwits are at Scatness. 13 Common Crossbills and 3 Willow Warblers are at Cunningsburgh and 15 Common Crossbills are at Sandwick. A Wood Warbler is at Grutness, 4 Common Crossbills are at Virkie and a Common Crossbill is at Toab.

On Unst there are 2 Common Crossbills and a Greenshank at Baltasound, 2 Common Crossbills at Norwick and a Willow Warbler at Skaw.

Barred Warbler at Scatness - Steve Minton; Willow Warbler at Cunningsburgh - Jim Nicolson

On Unst a Common Rosefinch, 2 Whinchats and a Common Crossbill are at Norwick, a Whinchat is at Skaw and a Common Crossbill is at Baltasound.

A Wryneck is at Boddam and the Barred Warbler is still at Scatness. 10 Common Crossbills are at Hestingott and one is on Trondra. 6 Bar-tailed Godwits and 5 Black-tailed Godwits are at Virkie. 4 Bar-tailed Godwits, 2 Black-tailed Godwits and a Knot are at Twatt and 12 Wood Pigeons are at Kergord.

Barred Warbler at Scatness - Steve Minton; Green Sandpiper at Lamba Ness - Rob Brookes

A Barred Warbler is at Scatness. 7 Common Crossbills and a Willow Warbler are at Ocraquoy. 8 Knot are at Twatt.

On Unst there are 2 Willow Warblers, a Redstart and a Common Crossbill at Norwick, a Green Sandpiper at Lamba Ness and 5 Sanderlings and a Knot at Skaw.

3 Common Crossbills are at Voehead, Bressay.

Friday 28th August 2009

Barred Warbler and Icterine Warbler at Skaw, Unst - Rob Brookes

A Marsh Warbler, a Barred Warbler and 2 Reed Warblers are on Fetlar.

On Unst a Barred Warbler, an Icterine Warbler, a Redstart, 3 Whinchats and a Willow Warbler are at Skaw, a Redstart is at Norwick and 2 Common Crossbills are at Baltasound.

An Icterine Warbler, a Sparrowhawk and a Whinchat are at Scatness.

2 Knot, 2 Sanderling, a Whinchat, a Garden Warbler and 3 Willow Warblers are on Noss.

On Whalsay a Reed Warbler, 3 Willow Warblers and a Common Sandpiper are at Brough and a Peregrine is at Skaw.

Sanderling at Grutness - Charles Gifford

A Wryneck, an Icterine Warbler, a Barred Warbler, a Ruff, a Garden Warbler and 4 Willow Warblers are at Quarff. A Wryneck is at Ocraquoy. The Wryneck is still at Geosetter. A Wood Warbler is on Mousa. 2 Common Redpolls and a Willow Warbler are at Sandgarth, Voe.

Common Crossbills today included 12 at Sandgarth, 10 at Levenwick, 6 at Brae, 3 at Quarff, 3 at Ocraquoy, 2 at Sumburgh and one at Toab.

On Whalsay the Pectoral Sandpiper is still at Brough, along with 6 Willow Warblers, a Garden Warbler, a Reed Warbler and a Common Sandpiper. A Ruff is at Symbister and 3 Willow Warblers are at Skaw.

A Barred Warbler is at Aywick, Yell.

6 Knot, 6 Sanderlings and a Willow Warbler are on Noss.

Wednesday 26th August 2009

Redshank, Ruff and Teal at Scatness - George Petrie; Ruff at Scatness - Steve Minton; Wood Warbler and Bar-tailed Godwit at Westing, Unst - Rob Brookes

A male Two-barred Crossbill was at Levenwick at 2pm only. The Black Tern flew past Scord this evening. A Wryneck is at Geosetter and a Barred Warbler is at Sumburgh Head. An Icterine Warbler, a Greenshank, a Ruff and a Common Sandpiper are at Scatness. An Icterine Warbler is at Hillswick and another is still at Wester Quarff. A Whinchat is at Bigton and a Greenshank is at Virkie. A Sand Martin, 8 Wigeon and a Grey Heron are at Norby and 2 Knot are at Melby.

A Barred Warbler, 2 Reed Warblers, a Garden Warbler, a Whinchat and 6 Willow Warblers are on Fetlar.

Om Unst 10 Common Crossbills are at Norwick, a Wood Warbler and a Bar-tailed Godwit are at Westing, a Common Crossbill, a Chiffchaff and 2 Willow Warblers are at Baltasound and a Willow Warbler is at Skaw.

Common Crossbill at Cunningsburgh - Jim Nicolson; Icterine Warbler at Scatness - Steve Minton

A Black Tern is at Virkie and an Icterine Warbler is still at Scatness. An Icterine Warbler, a Sparrowhawk, 2 Willow Warblers and 400 Eiders are at Wester Quarff. 23 Common Crossbills are at Cunningsburgh, 12 are at Busta House, Brae and are at Scousburgh. A Greenshank is at Loch of Tingwall.

On Whalsay the Pectoral Sandpiper is still at Houll loch, a Barred Warbler, a Grasshopper Warbler, a Black-tailed Godwit, 10 Knot and 7 Willow Warblers are at Skaw and 2 Willow Warblers are at Brough.

A Common Crane is at Mid Walls. 2 Icterine Warblers and a Greenshank are at Scatness. 2 Whinchats, a Spotted Flycatcher, 3 Garden Warblers, a Tree Pipit, a Willow Warbler and a Chiffchaff are at Sumburgh/Grutness, 2 Garden Warblers are at Quendale and a Reed Warbler and a Willow Warbler are at Hoswick. A Garden Warbler is at Sandgarth, Voe.

An Icterine Warbler and a Reed Warbler are on Fetlar.

A Tree Pipit and a Wood Warbler are at Baltasound.

A Whinchat, a Greenshank and a Willow Warbler are on Mousa.

5 Bar-tailed Godwits are at Hamnavoe, Yell.

Green Sandpiper at Maywick - Hugh Harrop; Icterine Warbler at Skaw, Whalsay - Jon Dunn

An Icterine Warbler, 2 Greenshanks and a Common Sandpiper are at Scatness. A Green Sandpiper and a Greenshank are near Maywick. A summer-plumaged Great Northern Diver is in Clift Sound. A Bar-tailed Godwit is at Ward of Browland and 15 Sanderling are at Melby.

An Icterine Warbler is at Skaw, Whalsay.

On Unst a Marsh Harrier is between Quoys and Ungirsta and 10 Sanderling, a Knot and a Willow Warbler are at Skaw.

2 Icterine Warblers, a Grey Plover, a Sparrowhawk and 5 Swallows are at Scatness. A Wood Sandpiper and a Greenshank are at Boddam. 7 Swallows are at Sandwick.

On Whalsay the Pectoral Sandpiper is still at Houll loch and a Whinchat and 4 Willow Warblers are at Brough.

On Unst 11 Common Crossbills are at Baltasound, a Turtle Dove is at Norwick and a Swift is at Lambaness.

A Common Crossbill is at Cullivoe, Yell.

On Whalsay the Pectoral Sandpiper is still at Houll loch, along with 4 Knot. A Whinchat, a Willow Warbler and a Peregrine are at Skaw.

A Barred Warbler is at Twatt.

On Unst 2 Common Crossbills, a Garden Warbler and 2 Sanderlings are at Norwick, a Wood Warbler and a Common Crossbill are at Baltasound and a Swift, 2 Knot and 3 Sanderlings are at Skaw.

On Yell there are 5 Bar-tailed Godwits at Hamnavoe, 13 Knot at Loch of Littlester and a Chiffchaff at Burravoe.

On Whalsay a Pectoral Sandpiper is at Houll loch, a Common Rosefinch and 2 Willow Warblers are at Skaw and 7 Common Crossbills and a Common Sandpiper are at Brough.

A Reed Warbler, a Garden Warbler, 25 Knot, 13 Sanderling, 4 Purple Sandpipers and 2 Common Sandpipers are at Scatness. A Willow Warbler and a Swift are at Toab and 2 Bar-tailed Godwits are at Virkie.

2 Knot and 3 Sanderling are at Skaw, Unst.

A Common Rosefinch is at Skaw, Whalsay.

A Corn Crake was flushed during grass-cutting at Fleck. 2 Greenshanks, a Ruff, a Black-tailed Godwit, 8 Knot and 3 Sanderlings are at Scatness.

A Greenshank is at Burrafirth, Unst.

Hooded Crow at Lerwick and Wren at Wester Quarff - Russ Haywood; Ruff at Skaw, Whalsay - Jason Atkinson

A Wood Warbler is at Lunna. A Goldcrest and a Willow Warbler are at Helendale, Lerwick. 5 Grey Herons are at Sand Water and 3 are at Catfirth. 30 Canada Geese and 37 Knot are at Eshaness.

On Whalsay a Black-tailed Godwit is at Brough and 3 Ruff are at Skaw.

Greenshanks at Dalsetter and Grey Heron at Boddam - George Petrie; albino House Sparrow at Lerwick - Austin Taylor

On Unst a Barred Warbler is at Norwick, along with several Garden Warblers and Willow Warblers.

27 Canada Geese, 2 Green Sandpipers and 7 Knot are at Eshaness. 3 Greenshanks are at Dalsetter and a Song Thrush is at Helendale, Lerwick. 5 Ruff are at Scatness, 3 Knot are at Boddam and 2 Bar-tailed Godwits are at Virkie.

A Barred Warbler, a Black-tailed Godwit and 2 Sanderlings are on Noss.

2 Willow Warblers are on Fetlar.

Wryneck at Baltasound - Mike Pennington; Merlin on Unst - Rob Brookes; Ruff at Scatness - Steve Minton

On Unst a Wryneck is at Baltasound, along with a Ruff and 2 Knot. A Willow Warbler is at Burrafirth, a Green Sandpiper is at Lamba Ness, 2 Knot are at Haroldswick and at least 8 Grey Herons are on the island.

A Barred Warbler, a Willow Warbler and 5 Knot are on Noss.

2 Stonechats are at Loch of Clickimin. 3 Willow Warblers are at Sumburgh Head and 2 Willow Warblers are at Toab. A Ruff, a Green Sandpiper and a Greenshank are at Scatness and a Ruff and 9 Knot are at Virkie.

Great White Egret at Tirsa Water - Gordon Carle; Arctic Skuas and Gannet at Breiwick - Russ Haywood

A Great White Egret is at Tirsa Water, Stromfirth. 5 Common Crossbills are at Lower Voe.

On Unst 3 Common Crossbills are near Westing, a Swift was near Westing and then at Uyeasound and single Grey Herons are at Norwick, Baltasound and Uyeasound.

On Whalsay an Icterine Warbler, 2 Common Crossbills, 3 Willow Warblers and 2 Chiffchaffs are at Skaw, 7 Knot and a Sanderling are at North Loch of Skaw and a Greenshank flew over Houll Loch.

An Icterine Warbler, a Cuckoo and a Common Crossbill are on Out Skerries.

A Spotted Redshank is on Trondra and a Reed Warbler is at Ocraquoy. A Greenshank and 15 Sanderling are at Sandness. A Green Sandpiper, 57 Knot and 4 Whimbrel are at Scatness, 2 Linnets are at Boddam and 5 Sanderlings are at Bigton.

On Unst a Dotterel is at Hermaness, a Willow Warbler is at Skaw and 4 Grey Herons are at Haroldswick.

2 Knot are on Noss.
