Long-tailed Duck, Iceland Gull
and Fulmar at Lerwick - Hugh Harrop
A white-breasted
Barn Owl, dead for several days, was found
on Out Skerries. A Skylark and 2 Meadow Pipits are also there.
There are 5 Red Grouse, a Scaup, 2
Moorhens and 6 Whooper Swans at Sullom Voe.
On Unst, a Water Rail is at
Haroldswick, the Little Grebe is still at Baltasound and a Glaucous
Gull is at Westing.

Black Redstart at Sumburgh - Hugh Harrop;

A Coal Tit
is still at Sandgarth along with a resident Water Rail, a Robin
and a Brambling, while there are 4 Slavonian Grebes in the head of
Dales Voe.
An Iceland Gull and a Glaucous Gull
are at the Shetland Catch in Lerwick, while a Waxwing is still at the
Sletts.
A Barnacle Goose is at West Sandwick on
Yell and a Little Grebe is at Baltasound.
The Black Redstart is still at West Voe of
Sumburgh and a Goosander is at Bigton.

King Eider in the Bluemull
triangle - Brydon Thomason; Dead male Mallard frozen in ice at Burrafirth -

A female King Eider
is in the Bluemull triangle, along with 1000 Eiders, while an Iceland
Gull is at Belmont.
A pair of Stonechats, a Grey Wagtail
and a Robin are near the Shetland Catch, Lerwick.

An Iceland Gull and 4 Common Scoters
are at West Voe of Sumburgh and a Brambling is at Virkie. There is a
Black Redstart at Harlsdale on Whalsay.
A Little Auk and 2 Glaucous Gulls
are in the Bluemull triangle and a Goosander is at Gutcher. A Glaucous Gull is at Burrafirth
and a Water Rail is at Baltasound.

a first-winter Iceland Gull and a Black Redstart at West Voe of
Sumburgh, a Jack Snipe at Exnaboe, and 2 Bramblings and a
Waxwing at Virkie. A Mistle Thrush is at Cunningsburgh. A Waxwing
is still at the Sletts in Lerwick.
On Whalsay, Iceland Gulls are
at Symbister and Hamister, a Glaucous Gull is at the Houb, a very late
White Wagtail is at Symbister and 16 Chaffinches are at Saltness.
There are 2 Water Rails at
Baltasound and 3 adult Glaucous Gulls at Burrafirth.

There are 3 Pink-footed Geese
at Uyeasound, a Goosander on Loch of Snarravoe, an Iceland Gull at Westing,
a Goldfinch and a Water Rail at
Baltasound and Woodcocks at Norwick and Lamba Ness.
There are 2 Long-eared Owls,
a Short-eared Owl, an Iceland Gull and a Song Thrush on

A first-winter
Ivory Gull was at Seafield, Lerwick, briefly before flying off
towards Clickimin. There are 2 Iceland Gulls and 2 Glaucous Gulls
at the Shetland catch in Lerwick and another Glaucous Gull at Rova Head,
while a Waxwing and a Chaffinch are in North Road. Another
Iceland Gull is at Scalloway.
A Velvet Scoter is in Mousa
Sound. A Glaucous Gull is at Virkie, a Chiffchaff is at Grutness,
and 5 White-fronted Geese flew over Virkie.

There are 2 Chiffchaffs and a
Robin at Swinister, Sandwick, and the Waxwing is still at Bigton.
A Water Rail is at Hillwell and 4 Common Scoters are in West Voe
of Sumburgh. There are 500 Golden Plovers on Bressay.
There are single Iceland Gulls
and Glaucous Gulls at the Shetland catch in Lerwick and another
Iceland Gull is at Scalloway.

There are 2 Iceland Gulls and
a Glaucous Gull at the Catch in Lerwick. A Little Grebe is at
Baltasound.

The male Ring-necked Duck
is still at Loch of Tingwall. In Lerwick, a Waxwing and a Chiffchaff are
in North Road, 3 Waxwings are at the Sletts and 3 Iceland Gulls
are at the Catch. The Mistle Thrush
is still at Toab.

Waxwing at Bigton - Hugh Harrop; Pheasant at
Sand, Garderhouse - Ann Johnston; Chiffchaff at Sumburgh - Jim Nicolson
A Waxwing is at Bigton and a
Chiffchaff is at Sumburgh. A female Pheasant at Sand, near
Garderhouse, suggesting another release. There are 350 Golden Plovers at
Effirth and 3 Moorhens at Loch of Norby.
There are 350 Golden Plovers
at Maryfield, Bressay, along with a Bar-tailed Godwit, 50 Turnstones
and 16 Dunlins.
A Robin and a Goldcrest
are at Cullivoe on Yell.

The adult
White-billed Diver is still in the Bluemull triangle, just north of
Sound Gruney, with a Little Auk and 1000 Eiders also there. There
are 3 Snow Buntings at Burravoe on Yell.
The 6 European White-fronted Geese are
still
at Baltasound along with a Chiffchaff, a Red-throated Diver is at
Norwick and a Woodcock is at Clibberswick.
A Sparrowhawk is at Weisdale. In Lerwick,
7 Knots are at Gremista, the Iceland Gull is still at the Catch
and 7 Waxwings at the Sletts. A Long-eared Owl is near Spiggie and
there are Woodcocks at Fladdabister and Scatness. There are 5 European
White-fronted Geese at Ringasta, a Common Crossbill and 4
Chiffchaffs at Quendale, and an Iceland Gull and 50 Snow Buntings
at Sumburgh.

22 Whooper Swans at Kirk Loch, Cullivoe.
The Mistle Thrush is still at Toab and
there are 2 adult European White-fronted Geese at Ringasta and another at
Spiggie. An Iceland Gull is at the Catch in
Lerwick and a Peregrine Falcon is at Tingwall.

A Coal Tit is still at Sandgarth, Voe, along with a Water Rail and a Brambling. 15 Snow Buntings are at Sand Water and 20-30 are at Tingwall Airport. A Grey Wagtail is at Sound, Lerwick. 2 European White-fronted Geese, a Pink-footed Goose, a Peregrine and 47 Snow Buntings are at Feck.
On Unst, a second-winter Glaucous Gull is at Burrafirth, 2 Chiffchaffs are at Baltasound and 42 Whooper Swans and 2 Mute Swans are at Uyeasound.
A Chiffchaff is at Burravoe, Yell.

The Hume's Warbler is still at Gardie House, Bressay.
At least one Taiga Bean Goose is still at Fleck and 2 European White-fronted Geese are at Scatness. A Common Crossbill is at Helendale, Lerwick. A Waxwing and a Reed Bunting are at Virkie, a Waxwing, a Dunnock and 2 Woodcocks are at Sumburgh Head and a Sparrowhawk, a Chiffchaff, a Reed Bunting and a Brambling are at Toab.
A Long-eared Owl is at Baliasta, Unst.
A Black Redstart, 2 Waxwings, 2 Long-eared Owls and 3 Woodcocks are on Fetlar.
A Stonechat is on Out Skerries.

A Hume's Warbler is at Gardie House, Bressay, along with 2 Water Rails and a Chiffchaff. A Long-eared Owl is at Gorie.
A very late Willow Warbler is on Fetlar, along with a Black Redstart.
A Short-eared Owl, a Black Redstart and a Woodcock are at Sumburgh Airport and 3 Little Gulls are in Quendale Bay. A European White-fronted Goose is at Spiggie. 4 Waxwings, 3 Bramblings and 2 Chaffinches are at North Road, Lerwick.
On Yell, 20 Whooper Swans are at Kirk Loch and 6 Snow Buntings are at Gloup.
A Water Rail is on Out Skerries.

Rustic Bunting at Baltasound - Rob Brookes
On Unst, the Rustic Bunting is still at Alma, Baltasound. A Waxwing is also at Baltasound.
A Yellowhammer, a Woodcock, 2 Bramblings and a Chiffchaff are at Swinister. A Yellow-browed Warbler is at Scatness. There are 6 Woodcocks and a Dunnock at Sumburgh Head, 3 Common Scoters in Quendale Bay, 3 Woodcocks at Toab and a Woodcock at Ringasta. In Lerwick there are 12 Waxwings at the Sletts, 4 Waxwings and 2 Bramblings at Cairnfield Road and 3 Bramblings and 2 Chaffinches at North Road.
On Yell, 2 Snow Buntings are at Cullivoe and 19 Whooper Swans are at Kirk Loch.
5 Woodcocks are on Out Skerries.

On Unst, a Rustic Bunting is at Alma, Baltasound. 3 Waxwings, a Chiffchaff and a Woodcock are also at Baltasound. 2 Taiga Bean Geese are at Uyeasound, along with 4 European White-fronted Geese, the pale-bellied Brent Goose, 41 Whooper Swans, 2 Mute Swans, 39 Goldeneye, 68 Tufted Ducks and a Woodcock.
A Great Crested Grebe is at Bigton. The 2 Taiga Bean Geese are now at Fleck, a Long-eared Owl and a Woodcock are at Sumburgh Quarry, a Woodcock is at Compass Head and 8 White-fronted Geese are at Scatness. A Black Redstart and a Grey Wagtail are at Cunningsburgh. A Waxwing is at Ocraquoy and 2 Pintails are at Clumlie. A Common Crossbill and 3 Chaffinches are at Veensgarth and 9 Snow Buntings, a Scaup and a Woodcock are at Sullom Voe.
In Lerwick 9 Waxwings are at the Sletts, 7 Waxwings and 2 Chiffchaffs are at Helendale and 2 Bramblings are at North Road. There are 20 Waxwings, 2 Greenfinches, a Water Rail, a Brambling and a Common (Mealy) Redpoll at Sandgarth, Voe.
On Whalsay, a Great Grey Shrike, 11 Woodcocks, a Chiffchaff and a Song Thrush are at Skaw, 2 Woodcocks are at Symbister, a Black Redstart and a Woodcock are at Brough, 2 Waxwings are at Marrister and 2 Waxwings are at Hamister.
On Fetlar there are 2 Waxwings, a Long-eared Owl, 7 Woodcocks, 2 Chiffchaffs and a Blackcap.

Two Taiga Bean Geese are at Spiggie and 5 European White-fronted Geese are at Fleck. A Coal Tit is still at Sandgarth, Voe. A Black Redstart and 6 Woodcocks are at Sumburgh Farm. 7 Snow Buntings and a Scaup are at Sullom Voe.
On Unst, a Grey Phalarope and 8 north-western Common Redpolls are at Norwick, a Glaucous Gull, an Iceland Gull and a Woodcock are at Burrafirth and a Woodcock is at Baltasound.

The Hume's Warbler is still at Symbister, Whalsay.
An Olive-backed Pipit is at Beosetter, Bressay.
A Pallas's Warbler is at Kergord. 2 Velvet Scoters and a Little Auk flew past Sumburgh Head this morning. 70 Snow Buntings are at Virkie, a Brent Goose is at Scatness, a Lesser Whitethroat is at Exnaboe and a Woodcock and a Greenfinch are at Toab. 2 Blackcaps, a Water Rail and a Brambling are at Sandgarth and a Chiffchaff is at Twatt.
Waxwings on mainland today included 20 at Sandgarth, 15 at Maywick, 5 at Fladdabister, 2 at Toab and singls at Twatt, Scatness and Nesbister.
On Unst, a Grey Phalarope is still at Norwick, a Waxwing is at Baltasound, 2 Mute Swans and 38 Whooper Swans are at Uyeasound, 50 Snow Buntings are at Haroldswick and 6 Chaffinches are at Northdale.

A Woodcock and 6 Snow Buntings are at Exnaboe and a Greenfinch is at Toab. A Coal Tit is still at Sandgarth, Voe, along with a Brambling and 2 Greenfinches. A Chiffchaff and 15 Chaffinches are at Twatt. A Sparrowhawk and 3 Chaffinches are at Wester Quarff, 4 Chiffchaffs are at Helendale, with singles at Easter Quarff and Hoswick, and a Water Rail is at Channerwick.
Waxwings on mainland today included 30 at Maywick, 15 at Sumburgh Hotel, 12 at the Sletts in Lerwick, 11 at Ocraquoy, 2 at Helendale, at least 2 at Toab and singles at Virkie, Scatness, Geosetter and Sandgarth, Voe.
On Unst, there are 9 Waxwings, 4 Snow Buntings, a Woodcock, 3 Chiffchaffs and a Chaffinch at Baltasound, 4 Waxwings, 2 Chiffchaffs and a Chaffinch at Norwick, 2 Waxwings at Skaw and 4 Bramblings and 5 Chaffinches at Northdale.
A Waxwing and a Brambling are at Cullivoe, Yell.

An Olive-backed Pipit is at Toab, along with a very late Willow Warbler, 2 Chiffchaffs, 2 Robins, 7 Waxwings, a Brambling, 50 Snow Buntings and a Kestrel. A Waxwing and 3 Snow Buntings are at Old Scatness, 4 Waxwings are at Scatness, 6 Waxwings are at Quendale and 6 Waxwings are at Exnaboe.
6 Waxwings are at Burnside, Lerwick, and a Stonechat is at Clickimin. 4 Waxwings and a Chiffchaff are at Ocraquoy, a Greenfinch is at Frakkafield and 6 Knot are at Dales Voe. A Waxwing, 30 Snow Buntings and 10 Chaffinches are at Twatt, a Peregrine is at Bousta, 9 Whooper Swans are at Loch of Murraster and 12 Long-tailed Ducks, 2 Great Northern Divers, 35 Purple Sandpipers, 8 Whooper Swans and a Bar-tailed Godwit are at Sandness.

On Yell, 2 Waxwings, a Common Redpoll and 25 Snow Buntings are at Burravoe and 9 Whooper Swans are at Kirk Loch.
A Waxwing is at Scatness and another 3 flew south there. A Waxwing is at Toab, another is at Scousburgh, 6 are at Maywick, 21 are at Burnside, Lerwick and 7 are at Gremista. A Chiffchaff is at Fladdabister, 3 Greenfinches are at Ocraquoy and 4 Chaffinches and a Greenfinch are at Veensgarth. A Stonechat is at Burnside, Lerwick.

On Unst, the Hume's Warbler is still at Baltasound, along with a Greenland White-fronted Goose, 5 Waxwings and a Woodcock . 2 Grey Phalaropes, 4 Waxwings, 22 north-western Common Redpolls and a Brambling are at Norwick and 40 Whooper Swans are at Uyeasound.
A White-billed Diver is in Bluemull Sound and 3 Little Auks are in Yell Sound.
The White-billed Diver is still at Kirkabister and the drake Ring-necked Duck is still at Loch of Tingwall. An Iceland Gull is at Scalloway, a Waxwing is at Vidlin and 14 Goldcrests and 8 Robins are at Kergord.
At least one Blue Tit is still at Fladdabister, along with a Chiffchaff and a Goldcrest. In Lerwick, 25 Waxwings are at Burnside and 3 are in South Road. A Brent Goose, a Scaup, 12 Snow Buntings and the Mallard x Pintail hybrid are at Scatness and the 3 Brent Geese and 9 Bar-tailed Godwits are still at Virkie.
A Long-eared Owl, a north-western Common Redpoll and 3 Chiffchaffs are on Fetlar.

On Unst, a Hume's Warbler is at Baltasound, along with a Greenland White-fronted Goose and 3 Waxwings. The 4 Grey Phalaropes are still at Norwick beach, a Waxwing and 10 north-western Common Redpolls at Norwick, a Robin, a Goosander, a pale-bellied Brent Goose and 38 Whooper Swans are at Uyeasound and 15 Snow Buntings are at Caldback Hill.
At least one Blue Tit is still at Fladdabister. The 2 Coal Tits are still at Sandgarth, Voe, along with 17 Waxwings, a Robin and a Goldcrest. The drake King Eider is still in Mousa Sound, the drake Ring-necked Duck is still at Loch of Tingwall and 2 Waxwings are at Toab. 3 Waxwings are at Maywick.
